Curly Coats

The most common breeds with curly-haired coats are Poodles, Bichons, Curly Coated Retrievers, Portuguese Water Dogs, and American Water Spaniel. Curly coats are a popular coat type and are considered to be low-shedding coats however not necessarily easy to care for. Dirt and other debris can get caught in the coat rather than falling out like most other coats it will get stuck until brushed or washed out. 

Use a slicker brush to make sure there are no tangles, mats or debris in the coat, then finish by going through the coat with a comb to get any loose hair or tangles out. Work some conditioner into any stubborn mats or tangles to get them out of the coat.
